Well, I lived in Barcelona for two yrs, just moved out of Spain half a year ago. If there is one thing I learnt it's that people there ARE racist. I am not black, just a European, and still could feel it, so it is not hard for me to believe that Lewis took some abuse that day. Maybe its just Catalunya, but even in that case it is bad enough.

I think you'll find Stepney and Coughlan are English, and without them passing information to each there would have been no spy scandal. So eh, they were the central characters, not the Spanish drivers. Not a complicated concept to grasp.

I wasn't talking about Hamilton's moves on Alonso, but on other drivers. Hamilton chose to leave the track at Spa rather than continue to fight, simply because the straighter run was through the runoff once he'd been run wide.

"Bit of pot calling the kettle black there. It wasn’t the Spanish people centrally involved in the spy story - it was two English people." - Er, no - it was too Spaniards, Alonso and De La Rosa, who conspired to cheat, and then Alonso who attempted to blackmail his boss when he wanted a political situation imposed on his team which ran contrary to the contract he had signed when he was employed (ie. parity between drivers). In fact, Fernando is the only driver in the history of the sport who has so blatantly cheated and attempted blackmail of any kind.

"Alono’s move was no worse than what Hamilton had been at at other races" - Er, no. Alonso ran Hamilton off the track. Lewis, on the other hand, left Alonso space in every overtaking manoeuvre - he simply out-raced Alonso.

Deep racism is alive and well in Spain - I know, I live there, and I witness it all the time.

"They won’t let the facts get in the way of a good story."

Bit of pot calling the kettle black there. It wasn't the Spanish people centrally involved in the spy story - it was two English people.
As for Alonso being a whining prick - how would you describe Hamilton's behaviour after Monaco, Spa (Alono's move was no worse than what Hamilton had been at at other races), and Fuji?

The behaviour of those people was utterly unacceptable, and I hope they're banned from the tracks for life, but responding with anti-Alonso/anti-Spanish nonsense is no help.
